Project Metrics at a Glance
The Opportunity
Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club was designed to transform dry-stack boat storage by replacing forklifts with a fully electric, automated ASAR system, constructing a hurricane-rated concrete facility capable of withstanding 200+ MPH winds, and setting a new benchmark for speed, safety, and efficiency in the marine industry.
The Challenge
Southwest Florida’s coastal environment presents extreme risks for boat storage facilities. The project team needed to overcome structural, environmental, and community concerns while exceeding existing industry standards.
- Protecting boats from tropical storms and hurricanes
- Improving fire safety beyond typical dry storage designs
- Avoiding the industrial appearance of metal pre-engineered buildings
- Designing a structure compatible with neighboring residential areas
- Creating a low-maintenance, long-lasting facility in a harsh coastal climate
